Let’s jump into it!
🔋 The upgrade I should have made sooner

A cluttered desk leads to a cluttered mind. At least that's how my brain works.
And nothing was cluttering my desk more than charging cables. You know what it's like. It doesn't take long for them to add up when you've got an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods in the mix.
Just looking at them had me annoyed.

Even tied up, it was still a mess.
Then my oldest son and daughter-in-law gave me the UGREEN W711 3-in-1 wireless charger for Christmas.
The day I unboxed the charger and placed it on my desk, I actually smiled. No more cable mess, just a nice, clean spot to charge my stuff.

No more cable clutter!
What it actually handles
As the name suggests, the charger can handle three devices at once. For me, that means:
iPhone 16 Pro Max
Apple Watch Ultra
AirPods Pro 3
It supports Qi2 magnetic charging, the newer wireless charging standard.
If you've got an iPhone 16 or 17 series, or iPhone Air, it can push up to 25 watts (W). Older iPhones (12–15) top out at 15W.
End result? My phone can hit around 50% in about 30 minutes.
The phone stand tilts up to 70 degrees. It rotates 360 degrees, making it perfect for StandBy mode — the iPhone feature that turns your phone into a smart display when it's charging sideways.

The magnetic attachment is strong, and I haven't had any issues with my phone slipping. The weighted base keeps the entire unit stable and prevents it from rocking or tipping when I drop my phone onto it.
There can be a slight wobble when tapping the phone's screen while the arm is fully extended. Still, the charger's base remains very stable, and it doesn't tip over or anything like that.
Next to the iPhone charger is a 5W Qi 2 charger that works with AirPods 3 and 4, and AirPods Pro 2 and 3. I was curious about how well my AirPods case would stay attached, but it has been fine.
On the backside is a slide-out 5W charger for an Apple Watch. Series 6 and newer watches are supported, including the Apple Watch Ultra line.
There's also a 10W USB-C port that can be used to top off something else, though I've not used it.
The bottom line
As soon as I placed it on my desk, I wondered why I waited so long. After using it for a few months, I can't imagine going back to separate cables.
My wife has slowly started claiming it for herself, mostly because she loves how fast it charges her phone.
That's usually the sign that something is actually good.
The UGREEN W711 lists for $139, but can be found for less at various resellers, including Amazon.
If you're late to the multi-device charger party like I was, I can't recommend one enough.
🗓 Apple Event “Special Experience” on March 4

Image: Apple
On Monday, Apple invited select media and content creators to a "special Apple Experience" in London, New York, and Shanghai at 9 AM Eastern on March 4. No specific details were provided.
It's expected that Apple will announce a new, lower-cost MacBook that runs on an iPhone chip and will reportedly come in multiple colors, which sounds fun. Additionally, we could see an update to the iPhone 16e, iPad Air, MacBook Air, and more.
I'll have a full recap for you following the event.
📺 Guest appearance on Press Pause with Bill McLean
Does the perfect productivity app exist?
I had the great honor of sitting down with Bill McLean recently on his podcast, Press Pause, to discuss our never-ending search for the nerd's unicorn: the perfect productivity app.
Craft comes pretty close for me, but Apple Notes is the best option for most people. We explain why.
We also hit on the most recent AI developments, the iPad Pro being my primary computer at home, and I got some grief over the notification badges on my home screen.
Check it out, and my thanks to Bill for having me on his show!
