I help everyday Apple users get more out of the devices they already own.
I bought my first Mac in 1994 — a PowerBook 165c — and I've been deep in the Apple ecosystem ever since. Countless Macs, iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and yes, even the Vision Pro.
But I'm not just an enthusiast. I've spent over 25 years working in IT. I started at AOL in the mid-90s, ran my own Apple Certified consulting business, and for the last 15 years I've worked in Higher Education, where I've overseen the deployment of more than 30,000 Macs and iPads to students, faculty, and staff.
That experience has given me a perspective most Apple content creators don't have. I've seen what confuses people, what trips them up, and what makes the lightbulb go on. That's what I write about: the practical stuff that actually makes your Apple devices work better for you.
Apple Talk is my free newsletter for people who love their Apple devices but don't want to wade through press releases and spec sheets to find what actually matters.
Every couple of weeks, I send out a mix of hidden features you probably didn't know about, practical tips and how-to guides, app recommendations I've personally tested, the Apple news worth paying attention to, and a recap of the latest Basic AF episode.
Over 1,100 readers have joined, and they open it at more than double the industry average — because it's useful, it's honest, and it respects your time.

Basic AF is the tech podcast I co-host with my friend Jeff Battersby. We've been at it for over two years and 80+ episodes, and we're just getting started.
The show has a heavy Apple focus, but we go wherever the conversation takes us — productivity apps, gear rundowns, the latest rumors, and excellent guests who bring completely different perspectives. New episodes drop every other Monday.
New around here? These are a few good places to start:
I love hearing from readers and listeners. Whether you have a question about your Mac, a topic suggestion for the newsletter or podcast, or you're interested in a collaboration — I'd love to hear from you.
